The grand finale of The OM Century,will involve over 150 performers in the U.S. premiere of The Song of the Deported, commissioned by Radio France in 1945 to commemorate the liberation of the concentration camps. Takemitsu’s brass fanfares frame Pärt’s wistful song of praise and Messiaen’s awe-inspiring requiem for the two World Wars. Also, two gorgeous late works will receive their LA premieres. This big gathering of Jacaranda’s brilliant instrumentalists will share the stage with some of the area’s finest students, as well as members of the Los Angeles Master Chorale, the Verdi Chorus, and award-winning youth choirs.
