VARSOVIA BY THE SEA – MAY 26, 2019 Santa Monica

Jacaranda and the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Los Angeles celebrated 100 years of diplomatic relations with an all-Polish program at First Presbyterian Church of Santa Monica. Featuring six pianists and several soloists in works by Chopin, Szymanowski, Lutowslawski, and Bacewicz. Afterward, Rockenwagner served savory Polish comfort food.


GOYESCAS BY THE SEA – MAY 20, 2018 Santa Monica

The SPAIN-USA Foundation and LA consulate helped bring pianist Jose Menor from London for a Spanish weekend. Mr. Menor also performed his Latin Grammy-nominated album of the complete Goyescas by Granados for the benefit concert and afterparty. Guitar virtuoso Michael Kudirka serenaded. Spectacular paellas crowned Manchego’s authentic catering.


Hosted by architect, creative director and founding partner of wHY Kulapat Yantrasast in his landmark home, this indoor/outdoor party featured the riveting violinist Vijay Gupta and pianist Inna Faliks, both acclaimed humanitarians. Akasha Richmond provided sumptuous Southeast Asian flavors, and Yamaha Artist Services donated a superb CFX concert grand.

Designed in 1947 by Paul Laszlo, and renovated by Barton Phelps & Associates, this stunning home offered an enthralling setting to hear Terry Riley’s In C. Everywhere you turned this Jacaranda all-star performance filled the air. Host Leslie Lassiter’s personal touch made an abundant table spread and signature beverages quite distinctive.

RESONATE – June 21, 2015 Culver City, CA

Hosted by Michael Rachlin, AIA, at Rachlin Partners in their striking Culver City headquarters. The LEED AP architect gave a multi-media presentation on concert hall design. Lyris Quartet performed “Trajectory,” a small capsule concert in a special upstairs salon. Luscious drinks and brilliant bites were served as the elevated METRO glided by.
